A man identified only as Francis has died in Wurapong, a farming community in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region. According to reports, Francis allegedly inflicted cutlass wounds on his wife during a misunderstanding, prompting some angry youth in the community to apprehend and assault him.
The youth reportedly took Francis on a motorbike to the police station, but he allegedly jumped off in an attempt to escape, leading to a fatal injury. He was rushed to the Klo Agogo Clinic and later referred to the Eastern Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police have since arrested the Dademantse and a few other suspects in connection with the incident. The assembly member for Wurapong Electoral Area, Francis Addey Atter, declined to comment on the matter, stating that he had given all the necessary information for the police investigation.
This incident is a tragic reminder of the dangers of resorting to violence, even in moments of heated disputes. It is important for individuals to seek peaceful means of resolving conflicts and disagreements, rather than resorting to physical harm.
As we mourn the loss of Francis, it is important for the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that all those responsible are held accountable. We urge members of the community to cooperate with the police to ensure justice is served.
